RSS (#8 & #9)

I'll be honest, until this week I wasn't sure how RSS worked. I knew it was a news feed where you selected what you wanted to read...but that was about it. After going through this weeks exercises, I must say I love RSS. I'm finding it very handy to check the latest headlines, I'm condensing 4 separate NHL news sites that I visit frequently onto a single page. Yay for simplifying my life.

To subscribe to the different feeds, I like just looking for the feed icon. I already have different websites that interest me and certain places I go to for news and as far as blogs go, I'm only interested in reading entries by people I know, so I should already have their URL. I don't need a search tool to help me find news sites.

Technology (#7)

I love new technology. Once I've figured out how something works and what buttons to push (or not to push), I love it. I'm not intimidated by new things and I like playing around with something to figure it out. I learn much better by doing, rather than reading about it...and I almost never break things in the process.

It does become a hassle when something you've grown accustomed to or depend on stops working. No, I don't have to have digital cable or an ipod, but I can't imagine not having them now.
